The production of passenger cars in Russia for five months rose by 77.5%

The production of passenger cars in Russia in January-May 2011 increased by 77.5% year on year to 668.2 million units. Such operational data is provided analysis and consulting company "ASM-Holding".

In May of this year, the volume of passenger cars increased compared to May 2010 by 43.9% to 140.9 million units.

Cumulative sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia, according to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), up 60% over the first 5 months and by 48% in May 2011.

Production of trucks (including chassis and light trucks) in Russia, according to "ASM-Holding" has increased in January-May of 2011 by 64% compared to the same period in 2010 to 73.7 million units. In May 2011, truck production in Russia increased by 58.2% to 16.4 million vehicles.

Add that Russian production of buses (including minibuses and "shift buses" on truck chassis) increased over the first 5 months of 2011 by 8.6% compared to January-May of last year and reached 13.82 million units. Bus production in May 2011 decreased by 8.2% to 2.84 million vehicles.

Import new buses grew in January-May 2011 was 2.8 times to 4.21 million units, while exports of new buses from Russia declined over this period to 872 machines to the export of 899 new buses for the first 5 months of 2010.
