The project Health of rural children from socially maladjusted families of TB patients’

Objectives of the project:
interdisciplinary management of a child living in the outbreak of tuberculosis infection, including socio-educational and psychological support and promote the maintenance of health.

social and psychological rehabilitation of children from foci of tuberculosis infection, including the conditions of their stay in the Orthodox camp;

processing of information for the family, in which the child is brought up, caught in a situation of risk of tuberculosis, "Books of health" for the children.
Brief Description of Project:

The project included the implementation of measures that prevent the development of TB in children, shaping their health saving skills. The project implements a multi-disciplinary approach of a healthy child from the source of TB infection.

At the 1st stage of the project investigated outbreaks of tuberculosis to develop a program of social and psychological support to children living in areas of TB infection to prevent the development of disease.

At the 2nd stage (from September 2010) implementation of programs designed to support children living in the outbreak of tuberculosis infection (51 hotbed of tuberculosis infection in Lyubinsky area where the children live).

Held: the socio-pedagogical and psychological counseling, individual and group interviews, the inclusion of children in practical activities aimed at forming zdorovesberegajushchego behavior, preventing the formation of bad habits (the organization of the Week easy breathing in the month of tuberculosis — in March 2011, the campaign "Break a cigarette until the cigarette does not break you! In summer 2011 junior high school students and young people (27 children) living in the hearth, were sent to the Orthodox camp, located on the territory of Omsk and Lyubinsky area in terms of camp session includes activities and socializing zdoroveohranyayuschego character. Project activities also included the in vocational education (medical, educational) volunteer fundraisers "Give a smile to a child" to collect school supplies, educational games, clothes, shoes, books for children. The relevance of the project:

Maintaining the health includes protection from infectious diseases. Widespread and dangerous by far the disease is tuberculosis. Feature of tuberculosis in the Omsk region is the high incidence in the population is 2.5 times the epidemiological threshold. Child and adolescent tuberculosis has a very important, from an epidemiological point of view, the distinguishing feature — it occurs in a family home.

The reasons contributing to the high incidence of children from the centers are: anti-social behavior of parents do not respect family health regulations, failure to consult a doctor. In turn, social services and psychological support services are not ready for contact with the children, as to date no clear system of social and educational assistance and support to children who are at risk of tuberculosis. Among the municipalities of the Omsk region stands Lubinsky District (1923 cases per 100 thousand child population living in the outbreak of tuberculosis), which was the reason for choosing the topic of the project to develop and implement measures that prevent the development of tuberculosis in children and adolescents, including the formation of zdorovesberezheniya competence in children.

Mechanism for the implementation of the project:

The effectiveness of the project:

The criteria for the effectiveness of the project activities were: reduction in the incidence of children at risk (no cases of tuberculosis among children in the outbreak and included in the program), increasing the availability of information on the health of the population at risk (51 family, suffering from tuberculosis); develop a responsible attitude to the health of children of the family (which facilitates the early detection of tuberculosis infection) and increasing awareness of health risk factors and the need for efforts to maintain and strengthen their own health in children at risk.

The result of the implementation of the program of rehabilitation of children (140 children) living in areas of TB infection was: the expansion of knowledge about the health of c
hildren at risk of tuberculosis, raising the profile of health in the individual hierarchy of values, children, the formation of the optimal level of anxiety in relation to the health of children, the formation of the motivation to further the preservation of health.
