The report of the Leningrad NPP-2 on the work in mid-summer 2013

The middle of summer at the site of the Leningrad nuclear power plant second turned out incredibly intense and fruitful.

Back in June, at the first power unit builders finished "dry" reactor protection and thermal protection of the cylindrical shell. Used in the mine VVER-1000 "dry" protection has come to replace the circular water tank, performs a similar function for the first VVER reactors.

"Dry" protection is a thin-walled cylinder, mezhobolochnoe space is filled with concrete special composition. Cylinder surrounds the reactor vessel in an area of nuclear fuel (its core), where streams of radiation reach the maximum values, and the "dry" protection acts as a radiation heat shield with respect to conventional concrete shaft. In addition, the "dry" protection forms a thermal neutron flux required for ionization chambers, control and protection system of the reactor. This is one of the most important elements of the defense plant.

In early July, was installed base farm reactor shaft of the first power. Farm, the weight of which amounted to almost 90 tons, put on the project space with the help of a crane Liebherr 11350 capacity 1350 tons — the most powerful of the lifting mechanism on the site. Such works are considered to be extremely difficult, as the axial and height exceptions shall not exceed the design values of 1.5 and 2 mm, respectively.

Overall this is a very "detail": fully assembled supporting truss is a steel structure with a diameter of more than 10 m and a height of 3.8 meters, with a total weight of 143 tons and consists of a support, and a section of the body. The support shaft is in the farm of the reactor and designed to secure the pressure vessel and acting on it perceptual weight and seismic loads.

On the second power unit of Leningrad NPP-2 in the turbine building was completed unit of construction steel at elevations + 25.00 +30.00 and for installation of crane girders. The next step — work on the device crane girders — it will work on a large front Mehanomontazh equipment. Following this, the builders will gather the main bridge crane 440 tons required for installation of the main technological equipment of the turbine building.

Another very important event took place at a construction site recently: The construction of a reinforced concrete shell of evaporative cooling tower number 2 of the first unit, which began in December 2011. Builders concreted last 96 stage and reached the design height of the object in the 150 meters at the construction of cooling tower with a diameter at the base reaches 124 meters, took 10,541.6 m? concrete. Ahead — work on dust control and anti-corrosion coating inside and outside of the stack, the application of a special insulating composition that protects the concrete from hydrothermal effects of sunlight and rainfall. The next step will be the installation of reinforced concrete frames and supports installation of the main process equipment.

At the end of July the civil works in the building of the first power supply, began installation of ventilation and drainage technology. Already completed the installation of inserts and floor installation at ground level, work is continuing on the sinking of a system of electric lighting of the building. Completion of this work refers to the plans in August.

At last, the HQ management settings talked about the main tasks for the second half — to prepare the site for installation of the reactor vessel of the first unit and germoobem for operation in the autumn-winter period. And in the following year, 2014, RTN expect from a license for the construction of the third and fourth unit of Leningrad NPP-2. Now the second stage of Leningrad NPP-2 is at the stage of intensive design. At the beginning of 2015 is scheduled physical start of the first unit, and in the middle of the year and the launch of the reactor power. Mode of commercial operation of the first power unit of the Leningrad NPP-2 will begin in 2016.
