The Russian women’s volleyball team won the European championship

The Russian women‘s volleyball team won the European championship. In the final match on Saturday, September 14, the Russians defeated the German team with a score of 3:1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:23, 25:14).

To reach the final, the Russian team beat the national team of Serbia, and the Germans have won the Belgian national team. Earlier on Saturday, took the match for third place. It beat the Belgian serbok 3:2 (23:25, 25:21, 28:26, 21:25, 15:11).

Last Russian women’s national volleyball team won the European championship in 2001. By becoming champions of the continent, Russians guaranteed a place at the World Championships to be held in Italy in 2014.
