The Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station completed the installation and start-up testing of the main equipment of 500 kV gas-insulated switchgear. In the tests, gas-insulated equipment has been tested for compliance with the class of voltage and insulation properties under voltage 560 kV.
Also at this time completed the main construction work on the building of new switchgear and panel devices, installation of ventilation and fire. The complete gas-insulated switchgear (GIS 500 kV) is used to transfer energy generated power plant in Siberia national grid.
The structure of the switchgear in accordance with the project comprises 19 cells of the type ELK-3 produced by Swiss company ABB. Each such cell is a complete unit, which includes circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, current transformers and voltage, as well as cabinet Management, developed for this type of device. The decision on the reconstruction of the existing open distribution devices (500 kV outdoor switchgear) SSHHPP was taken by the JSC "RusHydro" in 2010. In the complex reconstruction on the switchgear will be installed modern domestic and imported equipment that meets the highest standards of service and reliability, as well as having a long life. In addition will be replaced all of relay protection, automation and communications for modern microprocessor devices. The reconstruction project was developed by the distributor of "Lengidroproekt" and approved in July 2012.
