The second batch of hydropower equipment made of OJSC Power Machines for Zagorskaya PSP-2 JSC RusHydro, staged at the construction site of the station

Both impellers for pump-turbine hydroelectric Zagorskaya PSP-2 arrived at the construction site of the station. This is the second batch of equipment for hydroelectric number 3 and number 4 PSPs future. Impellers for the first two hydraulic units were shipped and delivered to Zagorskaya PSP-2 in June 2010.

Impellers diameter of 6.3 m and a weight of 102 tons each were made in St. Petersburg power engineering company "Power Machines". Transportation of such equipment from St. Petersburg to the construction site Zagorskaya PSP-2 in Sergiev Posad district of Moscow region was carried out by special trucks on federal highway Moscow — St. Petersburg. Impellers pumped storage power plant units (PSP) as opposed to hydro power equipment can be rotated in both directions. To unload the runners at the construction site used a powerful crane of 250 tons. To secure and protect the equipment arrived from the weather made a special 7 meter shed.

The contract for the supply of pump-turbines for Zagorskaya PSP-2 was signed between OJSC "Power Machines" and JSC "Zagorskaya-2" in October 2007. In accordance with the contractual obligations of power engineering company provided the design, manufacture, model testing and delivery of four pump-turbines of 214 MW each for the four hydroelectric stations. Currently, in accordance with the terms of the agreement, the experts of "Power machines" carry out the work of installation of the supplied hydraulic equipment.

Construction Zagorskaya PSP-2 is near the existing Zagorskaya PSP — branch of JSC "RusHydro". According to the System Operator deficit maneuver the regulatory power in the central Russian region of 2.5-3.0 million kW, including in the Moscow region — about 1.5 million kW. The second phase of the Zagorskaya hydroelectric station is built for a partial solution to this problem as well — preventing accidents in Moscow and the Moscow region.
