Most of us buy drinks in plastic bottles. Someone is more likely, someone often. But few who donate these bottles in
Meanwhile, not far away from Moscow near the town of Solnechnogorsk with 2007 runs
Promotional hauling Solnechnogorsk calling discard plastic only in special containers.
One of these containers installed at the Lyceum number 8. Another 70 such nets installed around Solnechnogorskaya the project for the separate collection and recycling of plastic bottles, which started in September 2011 Project proponents — Administration Solnechnogorsky municipal area, the plant "Plarus", "Coca-Cola" and the largest producer of soft drinks Coca-Cola Hellenic in Russia.
But, in spite of the fact that the project carried out educational activities, explain to people the importance of separate collection, not all residents share Solnechnogorsk good idea.
While we were filming the container at the Lyceum, one of the parents held wondered: what, guys, finish last experiment? When asked about how he refers to the fact that the plastic is collected and sent for recycling, the man said, well … it is something (processors) is good, and we breathe it.
Paradoxically, many residents and neighborhoods Solnechnogorsk sure "Plarus" their poison. Of course, we asked the management of the plant, where did this belief, and they have things to emissions of harmful substances. It turned out that in the place where now stands the "Plarus" some time ago really going to build a chemical plant. Here people have remembered, and it is now moving their concern for the company, which with good intentions, can not produce the "terrible smell" and "poisonous smoke" that chudyatsya solnechnogortsam. In addition, from time to time come to the factory committee that test production in response to the appeals of local residents. Until now, claims the plant was not.
Bottles made of mesh containers are loaded into a car and taken to the factory. The enterprise collected in a short time to buy a mini-press to carry less air and more bottles collected in the city.
Familiarity with the plant we started with a conversation with the commercial director Nikolai Vladimirovich Swede. He spoke about the work of the plant, about the "pitfalls" that had to be overcome, establishing efficient production. Now the main problem — lack of raw materials and the lack of support from the authorities. If the administration Solnechnogorsky district took part in the organization of collection points plastic power of the nearest Zelenograd (not to mention Moscow) is in no hurry to adopt a positive experience.
This — the final product "Plarusa" — beads, used to make the bottle.
Depending on the feedstock obtained granules of different color and quality.
This preform, which is made from grains. Of preforms and "blow" the ones familiar to us beverage bottles and fluids.
And this — the raw material collected PET bottles.
Unfortunately, not all are equally good bottles collected for recycling. In this photo some red beer bottles. Someone thought it was a good marketing move. But, most of all, they do not go for recycling. Too much density, too much dye.
Unloading the truck next to the bottles.
And here we are in the first workshop.
Here bales with plastic warehoused and sorted.
Dumped onto a conveyor belt all that is baled and sent to the primary sort.
Sorry, but the bales come not only plastic. Here’s a list of what can not be processed at this plant.
All this we pulled directly from the conveyor belt.

Bottles for household chemicals, vegetable oil, buttermilk, the substrate of cakes, paper — all of these need to be put in containers for plastic. Ideally, of course, did not buy the goods in such a package, but unfortunately, it is not always possible.
Bales of plastic bottles is very photogenic))
These mounds of plastic that have to be down in buckets, there will soon be left. Once the plant repaired the press, all the raw materials will be stored in bales. With piles and work more convenient and space they take up much less.
Dosortirovyvat raw materials must manually. From this phase depends directly on the quality of the finished product.
After sorting the bottles are sent to special units, where they are separated by the primary colors.
This washing shop. Bottles need to clean out the dirt and labels.
Unfortunately, in Russia, in contrast to, say, Belarus, there are no standards on the glue that stick labels to the bottles. Therefore, some of the bottles they are laundered even special alkaline solution. So, if you give a bottle to be recycled, the label (especially shrink) it is better to cut. Washed labels (and lids from bottles), by the way, also go to the cause.
Once bottles are washed, they are "under the knife." The resulting material was separated by color using a special machine. Dust is separated from the cutting PET special columns on filters using a countercurrent of air.
Here is the intermediate result of the work — flex. From this and make granules. Multicolored flex is the raw material for industries where the product color and with no special requirements on the purity of raw materials. From this you can do here is flex, for example, plastic basins)) Yes, source code for these multi-colored flakes are the corks of bottles!
From this control process.
Here, under a powerful magnifying glass every 15 minutes visually check the quality of the finished pellets. These numbers must be uniform within the granules should not be any inclusions.
Well, this is the final stage of production. In the photo — extruder — unit, where a temperature of about 280C Flex turns into granules future.
Get out of the extruder here are spaghetti.
They were cooled with water and cut into pellets.
A fascinating spectacle)
Storage of finished products. In each bag — 1 ton, plus / minus 50 kg.
In parting, we climb up to the gallery to look at the production from the top. It is quite warm and humid, the lens immediately fog up as a Turkish bath))
Now "Plaruse" do stock suitable for the production of technical bottles only. But very soon the company of the examination of raw material quality (and it is quite high), must obtain a certificate that will be used pellets "Plarusa" for the production of bottles, fit for the food industry!
We will be happy to questions, comments, and, of course, the census. You look, and the "powers that be" finally notice that they have at hand a plant that is ready to help in solving the problem of waste.
We remind you that it is too late to take part in the competition and win a fleece jacket with the logo of Greenpeace, made of the same pellets as to produce "Plaruse":
