Operational-strategic command of the military-space defense (USC EBA) on Wednesday received a new set of regimental anti-aircraft missile system S-400 "Triumph", which will be deployed in the Moscow region, told the Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Vladimir Drik. Prior to that, the Russian Army was the only regiment of S-400, stationed in Elektrostal near Moscow.
"From 16 to 19 February in the state Kapustin Yar is the official handover ceremony of the second set of the regimental anti-aircraft missile system S-400" Triumph "- Drik said.
According to Drik, the second regiment of S-400 is composed of two divisions, each of which are located on eight launchers. Each launcher has four unified rockets.
Drik said that the range of the new missile system S-400 is 400 kilometers at an altitude of 40-50 kilometers. Currently, there are several options for a unified set of rockets to the C-400, including ready to shoot down ballistic targets, cruise missiles and hypersonic aircraft.
"This kit was obtained in the framework of the program of modernization of military technology and equipment of the new models of the Air Force in 2011," — said Drik.
