The grand opening of a memorial in honor of the great creator of tanks, the chief designer Uralvagonzavod in 50-60th years of XX century, Major-General Leonid Kartseva engineer, took place in the village of Skomovo (Ivanovo region). Leonid Kartcev was appointed chief designer of the tank design bureau, now KB Ural Transport Machine-Building Corporation "Uralvagonzavod", in March 1953 at the age of 31, and became the youngest in the history of the domestic tank development chief designer of the KB.
