The volume of foreign orders for the supply of Ukrainian carrier rockets in excess of $ 1.5 billion

The volume of orders of foreign companies Ukrainian space industry for the manufacture and delivery of launch vehicles is estimated to date to more than $ 1.5 billion, according to an official report of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (GKAU) on the use of the state budget in 2011, published on Friday.

According to the report, the volume of production and sales of the industry in 2011 grew by 1.5 times in comparison with 2010 — to 3.3 billion USD, the share of exports in total sales increased to 73.2% from 23.7%.

Ukraine in the past year has deepened cooperation in the space sector with a number of countries — Russia, the U.S., EU, South America, Asia and Africa.

On today’s space industry of Ukraine has successfully represented, including in international projects such as Sea Launch and Land Launch to launch commercial satellites with a modernized "Zenit" LV with maritime space center in the Pacific Ocean and from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, to create a space rocket complex (RSC) "Cyclone-4" at the Baikonur Alcantara (Brazil), to create a new light class launch vehicle that will provide for delivery of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) from the launch site in the United States.
