Throughput of the Arctic sea ports has increased by a third

The operators of marine terminals of the Arctic Basin during the period from January to April this year, handled 14.8 million tons of cargo, which is 35% more than the same period in 2012.

 The volume of transshipment of dry cargo increased by 3.3% — to 7.5 million tons of liquid bulk cargo — has doubled — to 7.3 million tons.
Overall turnover at Russian seaports for the period increased by 6% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 186.3 million tons.
It is clarified that the volume of liquid cargo amounted to 109.8 million tons, up 10.9% over the first four months of last year. Total deliveries of bulk carriers was 76.5 million tons (down 0.2%).
Export cargo handled 148.4 million tonnes, up 6% from the same period last year, imports of goods — 15.4 million tons (up 19.6%), transit — 12.7 million tons (down 16.2%) .
