To Novovoronezh NPP-2 (general designer and general contractor — JSC "AEP", Moscow) delivered the first two tanks of the emergency core cooling system (ECCS) for the power number 2.
ECCS accumulator tank is a cylindrical vessel volume of 60 cubic meters and weighing about 80 tons. Containers are an integral part of the passive part cistemy emergency core cooling. The passive part is functioning without the involvement of staff and the use of external sources of supply. It includes accumulator tank 12 filled with an aqueous solution of boric acid.
Accumulator tank installed in containment at around 26.30 + meters.
In case of emergency, when the pressure in the primary circuit falls below a certain level, is feed into the reactor and the liquid cooling the core. Thus, the nuclear reaction is quenched more boron-containing water-absorbing neutrons.
