Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant is upgrading field assembly and creates an area of high-precision machining

Ulan-Ude JSC "Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant" (U-UAP), part of the Russian Helicopters holding company "Helicopters of Russia", as part of a comprehensive plan of modernization and development of the company is upgrading the mechanical assembly production.

One of the stages of modernization was the establishment of a high-precision machining area. To do this, the plant has purchased and put into operation a high-precision and high-speed turning and milling equipment with numerical control. According to plans of the enterprise, the new equipment will allow the use of modern technology for their processing and manufacturing.
Now UUAZ develops mathematical models, technical processes and control programs for new machines. To work on the new hardware engineering firm, which put machines, organized the training of several groups of experts — plant operators.

In 2011, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant plans to buy 15 more of these machines. In total, the modernization of the mechanical assembly production is planned to put into operation a few dozen units of the new equipment.
Modernization of production UUAP began in late 2008 as part of the holding company "Helicopters of Russia" on modernization of the enterprises. Already in 2009 a purchase and introduction of modern equipment, reconstruction and modernization of the production capacity of the enterprise. Holding plans to create a U-UAP competence centers: the assembly of helicopters, fabrication bays and large panels of aluminum alloy manufacturing assembly tooling, manufacturing equipment for harvesting and stamping production.

The modernization of the production system of holding "Helicopters of Russia" is one of the strategic directions of its development. Thanks to the technological upgrading of enterprises, including Ulan-Ude, the plants can get the necessary technological base to further increase production and improve product quality. According to the plans of the holding, the program re-equipment is designed to bring on a new level of technology and allow for the future development and to begin mass production of new helicopters — the modernized Mi-171M and high-speed helicopter.
