USS CVN-80 received the name ENTERPRISE

December 1st Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus U.S. (Ray Mabus) announced that third-class aircraft carrier «Gerald R. Ford», which in the fleet will receive number CVN-80, will be named after the world’s first nuclear aircraft carrier «Enterprise». Secretary of the Navy U.S. video message was shown during the ceremony output from the Navy CVN-65 Enterprise at the naval base in Norfolk (Virginia,).
 
Construction of the head of an aircraft carrier, «Gerald R. Ford» (CVN-78) was launched September 10, 2008, the keel made November 14, 2009, the entry into the Navy in 2015. Construction of a second aircraft carrier «John F. Kennedy» (CVN-79) commenced February 25, 2011.
 
New aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-80) will be the 9th ship with the title in the history of the U.S. Navy.
