Assembled in Russia Italian AW139 helicopter made its first flight

JSC "HeliVert", a joint venture of "Helicopters of Russia" and the Italian company AgustaWestland, reported that the helicopter AW139, assembled in Russia, made its first flight. 18 December 2012 in accordance with the program of ground test aircraft underwent a so-called roll-out of the first AW139 assembled in Russia, tail number 60001 for ground testing.

The plant "HeliVert" is located at the National Center helicopter in the suburban Tomilino. This company was built "from scratch", has one of the most modern production facilities in Russia, where incorporate advanced technology for the production of helicopters.

In accordance with previously announced plans, the first production AW139 helicopters in Russia began in 2012. It is expected that the company will be able to produce up to 15-20 helicopters per year. The number of employees at the maximum output power can exceed 100 people.

The plant is designed to meet the growing demand for the AW139 helicopter on the Russian market of civil aircraft, as well as in the CIS market.

The tentative agreement on the establishment of a Russian Russian-Italian joint venture "HeliVert" producing civil helicopter company AgustaWestland AW139 signed and holding "Helicopters of Russia" at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2008. After this November 6, 2008 followed by the signing of the Agreement on the establishment of the joint venture, which was held in the presence of the Prime Ministers of Russia and Italy — Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi. In the summer of 2011 in France signed the basic legal and regulatory documents governing the operation of the joint venture ZAO "HeliVert", and in January-March 2012, the specialists of JSC "HeliVert" have already been trained in Italy at the training center of AgustaWestland.

The average multi-purpose helicopter AW139 — one of the best twin-engine helicopters in its class for speed, flight characteristics and volume of the passenger cabin. The streamlined shape of the fuselage, the latest electronic equipment, large lounge and low noise characteristics of the AW139 sets new standards in the market. AW139 has a high technological characteristics that contribute to its cruising speed of up to 306 km / h and range of over 927 kilometers and a flight duration of 5 hours.

This is the only helicopter in its weight class, which is equipped with an integrated system Anti-icer FIPS (Full Ice Protection System), allowing to fly in icing conditions all admissible.

Power plant AW139 helicopter consists of two gas turbine engines Pratt &Whitney Canada PT6C-67C. Engines takeoff power 1679 hp equipped with automatic control and monitoring FADEC. Maximum take-off weight of the helicopter AW139 — 6400 kg with a maximum of 6800 kg. The helicopter is configured by a crew of one or two pilots and is able to transport up to 15 passengers or 6-8 passengers in a corporate or VIP configuration.
