Russian scientists have developed a unique device that will detect even the smallest of malignant tumors and in good time to start a battle with them, the website of the First Channel.
The authors of the instrument were physicists working at CERN Large Hadron Collider.
For the detection of malignant tumors of Russian scientists use radioactive isotopes, which are marked cancers, then the detector reads a stream of radiation and prompts surgeons to the tumor.
"It (the device) is based on the analysis of single particles, single photons. That is, it actually sensitivity at a molecular level. If the molecule emits any particle — beta, alpha, gamma — it detects it ", — Yevgeny Grigoryev told journalists, the head of the Russian group at CERN and advisor to the director of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics.
Similar devices are manufactured abroad, but are much more expensive Russian design.
