The brightest comet with a double tail will fly at a latitude of Novosibirsk

Novosibirsk residents can watch the end of this and the beginning of next week flight brightest comet C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS), said at the training center, "Planetarium" at the Siberian State Academy of Geodesy.

The comet will be visible in the skies over the Novosibirsk from 13 to 20 March, but the best conditions for observing the expected late Friday.

"This is a very beautiful celestial phenomenon that can be seen with the naked eye only in good weather and clear skies. According to preliminary weather forecast, the weather is going to be a Friday," — said the employee of the planetarium.

According to her, the heavenly body will move to the north-west of the line of the horizon. The comet will be able to see not only the residents of Novosibirsk, but other communities located on the same latitude as the "Interfax".

"The bright spot just below the moon — this is the passing comet, and a telescope, you will see her long double" tail. "Comets fly quite rare. So, for example, the comet will be seen only after 100 million years," — said the spokeswoman.

She also added that the celestial body flies away from Earth and is not dangerous for its inhabitants.
