Walking home

10.03.2013

Danish design studio N55 has created a fantastic self-contained modular home that can walk around the city. consists of a base module, equipped with solar panels and small windmills to generate energy.

The house also has storage tanks for rain water, apparatus for the production of compost and greenhouses for growing vegetables. Is composed of a steel frame, aluminum, wood, glass and polycarbonate. The project authors believe that this walking home will allow people to return to the leisurely nomadic life.

Six feet, by which design moves can go on almost any surface, causing urban asphalt and cobblestones minimal damage. Thanks to the touch sensors, each leg itself assesses where she set foot. However, it is worth noting that the house is different slowness: the maximum speed at which it can — about 100 meters per hour.
