At the end of 2012, the Tambov region is a leader in environmental rating regions. This information was announced yesterday at a press conference of the All-Russian public organization "Green Patrol".
In 2011, the Tambov region for the first time gained a leading position in the ranking of environmental well-being. According to the representatives of the "Green Patrol", this year the region is not only retained the championship, but also improved as compared to last year, indicators for all the major assessment categories: environmental, social — environmental and industrial.
From the regions of the Central Federal District of the top ten ranking also includes Belgorod and Kursk region.
Assessment of environmental well-being of the Russian Federation "Green Patrol" has been since 2008. The sources of information for its production are state agencies, civil society and business organizations, media reports and citizens' initiatives, their own results of field studies of the "Green Patrol". The rating is based on 21 indicators characterizing the ecological situation in the region.
