The example of the European integration of Romania and Bulgaria

Romania

romania

From the point of view of the Romanian layman, the process of European integration was to be similar to the process of dipping into nirvana or the ascension of the earth's paradise. The most important slogan of the last 15 years: "European integration is above all". All the pain of reform, all the economic problems were due to all the turmoil and the need of victims in the name of European integration and the fact that the country has made sufficient efforts for European integration. After 5 years of being in the EU might well sum up, behind any ideological aspects and focusing solely on the economy.

Let's see, with what was left after the people of Romania's European integration (and in fact it is still going on! "Is at the beginning of European integration, European integration is not present at the end!")

In 2004, the British-Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal wanted to buy the largest Romanian steel plant Sidex. According to conservative estimates, the real price of this "mastodon communist era" was about $ 1 billion. Lakshmi Mittal did not want to invest that kind of money and fixed the problem rather elegant way.

One of his companies made a donation to the size of a £ 4 million to the electoral fund of the British Labour Party. The effect was not long in coming: the then British Prime Minister Tony Blair has attended the course of privatization in Romania and the Romanian government sent a letter in which he hinted at the desirability of privatization of this plant, particularly from the perspective of integration of Romania into the European Union. As a result, the largest Romanian metallurgical plant was sold for 74 million dollars.

Also in 2004 was privatized state-owned oil company Petrom. The slogans were the same: "we have to pay for a ticket to the European Union". Peter was bought by the Austrian company OMV. By the way, an interesting fact: European officials flooded Bucharest, proclaimed the principle that any state involvement in the economy — a terrible evil anti-European, but not in a hurry to apply this principle in relation to themselves. OMV — de facto state the Austrian company, which became the owner of the Romanian oil through "transparent privatization and market mechanism."

The problem is that the price paid by the Austrians did not cover, and 15% of the value of proven reserves of oil and this does not include equipment, personnel and so on. Moreover, the Austrians entered in the privatization contract fixed tax on royalties. Austrian themselves claim depending on the field, it ranges from 3.5% to 13%. Exact figures are not known by anybody except the Austrians and the Romanian Government: part of the contract — are classified, probably not much to upset the electorate.

The situation of Romanian oil — bright primerneokolonializma. Austrian owners of the Romanian oil pay tax on mineral resources, to wh ich a fraction of the tax practiced, for example, in Tanzania. Since its privatization, only because of the low level of tax on royalties Romanian budget (according to the most optimistic estimates!) Were missing 15.4 billion, which is about 10% of GDP. Many Romanian specialists look with envy at Russia, where Vladimir Putin stopped looting of oil and brought normal levels of taxation, while the Romanians can only watch as the Austrians are cashing in on their oil.

Romanian state-owned telecom company Romtelecom was sold to the Greek state telecom operator OTE at a price that does not even cover the cost of copper communication cables, which are owned by Romtelecom. At very low prices and at the same slogans about the need of victims in the name of integration into the European Union, the hammer went almost the entire banking sector, the remaining metals, chemicals, agricultural land use, distribution networks, and so on. In the hands of the state there were only a few power companies, but they will soon be privatized, and until then, they supply electricity at lower prices to various European companies.

Perhaps someone will point out that the European Union has helped Romania to win in the territorial dispute, the subject of which was a shelf of Snake Island. The catch is that Romania will not get next to nothing from the resources found there, as these resources will produce the Austrians and Americans, according to the agreements signed back in the 90s.

At the end of a long and arduous road to the European Union got following situation: the Romanians themselves are just tenants in their own country, which they did not possess. Neither the banks nor oil, nor arable land. The illusion of improving the standard of living there because of cheap European credit boom and the real estate sector. The speculative boom ended, the debt remained, but the country itself is not.

Bulgaria

Supporters of Ukraine's European integration promise of our country in the case of EU membership mountains of gold. Edition of "Verb" has decided to ask the residents of Bulgaria, the Slavic countries, is a member of the European Union, which could bring Ukraine and Europe that it has given Bulgaria. Our interlocutor — Dimitar Zdravkov (Dimitar Zdravkov), the Bulgarian public figure ("Slavic unity").

You come back home in the evening, turn on your television and you see the same stupid show and endless stultify the Turkish soap operas — with breaks for commercials. Ads look good. Is advertising a beautiful life, is advertising the European Union — all happy, all the happy faces. Ends advertising — you look around and see that all again the same: the same dark walls, the same people around. A happy life is far away, do not get it …

It seems, that's it — get a hand! You can buy a car, to fill a full tank of gas and take off in the Mediterranean, to Italy, to Spain — only to want.

That's just your average salary of 300 euros, of which 100-150 communal and even if you have a car, a gas station that kind of money does not go far enough.

Bulgaria — a country, which joined the European Union. How has the situation changed? Do you feel the Europeans?

Yes, we joined the European Union, not just the European Union came into us. We still have the same corrupt government, the same corrupt officials coupled with stringent standards, rules, techniques Union. We were destroyed, crushed by the European Union. Yes, they give us some tranches to development, but what happens to the money — no one knows. All deposited in the pockets of officials and even comes somewhere — that only by "their" and "their" projects. If you do not "cover" in the Administration — your business is doomed.

Inept government had accumulated loans from the IMF, which began to dictate the new economic policy. Was imposed strict conditions, which eventually destroyed the country's economy.

Was first systematically destroyed the entire industry — privatized for a song, all that is possible and cut into scrap metal. Completely destroyed all of agriculture. Yes, we were allowed to engage in animal husbandry, but put their meager purchase prices, which have ravaged. And so in all. The country is entirely dependent on imports.

Destroyed the system of higher education. Spawn mass non-ranking universities, which for a bribe issue diplomas of higher education. All that we can offer for export — it's just a cheap unskilled labor.

In Bulgaria, the catastrophic demographic situation. The population fell from 9,000,000 to seven. This is worse than any genocide. Young couples stopped having children. Who can — leaving. There is a generation gap. A huge number of people working in the west. Raise their children and grandparents. Children do not see their parents. That's the price you paid for the European Union Bulgaria.

We wanted a different life, but not like that. We were cruelly deceived. We pulled into this European Union is not asking people. We watered western propaganda. We had hoped that joining the European Union, life will become easier. No! Life has not become easier. Life has become unbearable!

Now Ukraine is a full-scale promotion of accession to the EU. What can you say about the Ukrainians?

You want to know how you will be living in the European Union? Come to Bulgaria. Just do not walk along the promenade from restaurant to restaurant. This is a mask. This facade. Drive a little, a few tens of kilometers inland. You will see the ruins of the plants, you will see the poverty that reigns around. You will see a crushed EU economy, you will see people who are trying in vain to find a job.

But only you will not see happy young people — many have ever gone out of their country, who temporarily for work, and many — for good.

What about freedom of speech and the "European" values?

It seems to be the freedom of speech and can scold the government, but not by much. Because it might just happen to have problems at work. And if you have not, God forbid, to use the word Russia, Putin — timed a week before the wolf ticket to nowhere. Immediately branded a spy, an accomplice and all mortal sins.

It seems to be open borders — and you can go for a vacation in western Europe, but just who will go? Unemployment, which cheerfully warn the authorities at the level of 18%. This is a blatant lie! I will declare with all responsibility: twice! At least every four able-bodied people can not find work. Who can — leave — thank God, the borders are open. But who are they? Maybe managers? Technologists? Engineers? No, they're laborers, dishwashers. Gasterbaytery! That's what gave us the European Union — the ability to go to work without limits on unskilled jobs.

What good was an ordinary man when joining the EU?

Joining the European Union was beneficial only a handful of oligarchs who earned squandering of national economy. Well in Bulgaria live in very few. Most barely make ends meet.

How are ordinary Bulgarians to Russia, the Eurasian Union?

Unfortunately, in Bulgaria the reigns Western propaganda. Everything connected with Russia — or ignore or stain.

But, I see and I am absolutely convinced — not less than 75% of the people for the restoration of close ties with the modern Russia. We remember the years when we were friends with Russia. We had no such problems, as it is now. But people are afraid to speak out — people squeezed economically, everyone is afraid of losing his job.

But our friendship did not hide! Failed puppet governments and tons of Soros and NATO propaganda so quickly make us forget about our common Slavic roots. You want to know how the Bulgarians belong to Russia? Come join us on March 3, when the whole Bulgaria recalls how Russia has set us free from the Ottoman yoke. How many people go to the Shipka Pass. And with each passing year more and more. This — not ostentatious demonstrations proplachennye the hour of some political forces. This is — the age-old memory of our people.
