European Parliament adopted a resolution on Belarus

The project was prepared and submitted to the five factions of the European Parliament. It was approved by an absolute majority. "For" vote 597 deputies, 31 — "against" 22 MPs abstained.
In the resolution the European Parliament calls on the executive bodies of the European Union to simplify the function of obtaining visas for European people of Belarus, also stop the visa sanctions against the European Union of certain Belarusian officials for six months, so for this time in Belarus was revised discriminatory law media of information.
With all of this proposal to stop the visa ban does not apply to persons who have participated in the violation of democratic election standards and Human Rights.
In the resolution the European Parliament welcomes the release of political prisoners Alyaksandr Kazulin, Andrei Kim and Sergei Parsyukevich, also refers to the conditions of the September parliamentary elections in Belarus, even better than in the 2004 elections and 2006. With all of this, but in the resolution expressed "profound disappointment" in in Belarus did not work for democratic change, the hoped-for European Union, and that, despite the small improvement, the election did not meet the standards of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The European Parliament also called on the Belarusian authorities to conduct a truly democratic elections in accordance with international standards, and for this, among other, the representatives of all parties to provide access to the electoral commissions at all levels also cancel early voting, or at least provide a separate entry in the counting and election protocols votes with premature vote.
The resolution also calls on the Belarusian government to respect human rights and to cancel a number of articles of the Criminal Code, which are used for repression, to refrain from prosecution of Belarusian students studying abroad after the exclusion of Belarusian institutions for social activities, also remove the obstacles to registration non-governmental organizations.
The European Parliament also welcomed the fact that, despite enormous pressure, Belarus has not recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The resolution expressed the conviction that Belarus only the middle of Europe retains the death penalty.
