The spacecraft "Progress M-15M" at the second attempt docked to the International Space Station (ISS). As the morning of Sunday, July 29, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Mission Control Center (MCC), the docking took place normally. It was made with the help of a new system approach "Course-by."
"Progress M-15M" undocked from the ISS on July 23 to conduct a test dock with the "Kurs-NA". The first attempt, however, failed when the system was interrupted by the convergence of the spacecraft and the station. After that, the "Progress" was taken to a safe distance of 500 kilometers and take a second dock on July 29. The new system "Course-by" features an almost complete abandonment of analog signal processing — this function is performed by microprocessors. After testing the system will be installed on cargo "Progress" and manned spacecraft "Soyuz".
