Approved a plan for the implementation of the state program on space activities

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved a plan for the implementation of the state program "Space activities in Russia to 2013 — 2020 years" in 2013 and the planning period of 2014 and 2015.

The plan provides for the implementation in 2013-2015, the following key activities: filling and deployment by 2016 in the number of constellation 66 spacecraft civilian and dual-use, ensuring efficient operation of the Baikonur cosmodrome and the creation of the East of the necessary infrastructure to launch an unmanned spacecraft with rockets carriers such as "Union"; maintenance and renewal of the GLONASS constellation, operation of the Russian segment of the International Space Station, the document says.

"Implementation of the plan is aimed at ensuring secure access and the necessary presence of Russia in space for socio-economic development while maintaining the leading position of the Russian Federation in manned missions and the implementation of international obligations in the field of space activities" — the document says.

The state program "Space activities of Russia for 2013-2020" defines the goals and objectives of the development of space activities and space industry until 2020, the target indicators and indicators of implementation, according to the explanatory statements to the document.

The program also includes a resource indicators necessary for the prediction of the federal budget for the development of space activities for the next planning period and is aimed at ensuring the achievement of the goals and priorities of socio-economic development of the country.
