The participants of the project The Arctic — Territory Discoveries

Participants and organizers of the project "The Arctic — Territory Discoveries", developed by the Government of Chukotka and the Russian Geographical Society, initiated the preparation of the fourth stage of the expedition. At this point in Tiksi (Sakha Yakutia) copies of old Pomeranian kochey "St. Nicholas" and "St. Andrew" preparing for launch.
The courts will have to overcome the final leg of the route from Petrozavodsk to the district capital: Tiksi — Anadyr. Following in the Northern Sea Route, the vessel will be so legendary route in 1648 and a pioneer explorer Seeds Dezhneva. Arrival kochey "St. Nicholas" and "St. Andrew" in the capital of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is scheduled for September 2013.

Solemn ceremony of launching the kochey "St. Nicholas" and "St. Andrew" was held May 29, 2011 in Petrozavodsk, where were built Pomeranian court. The second phase of the project (Lena expedition) began on 16 June this year from Ust-Kut, where kochi profit autoplatforms of Petrozavodsk. Overcoming the Lena River 2,000 km Kochi arrived in Yakutsk on July 5, to participate in events marking the 380th anniversary of Yakutia in the Russian and in the V International Sports Games "Children of Asia" and the International Sports Forum "Russia — Country of Sports" .
The opening meeting was attended kochey Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, the governor of Chukotka Roman Kopin, vice-president of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Dmitry Glushko, head of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolayev, who came specially to meet with the members of the expedition member of the Federation Council, the hero of the Soviet Union, the hero Russia Artur Chilingarov.
The third and most important stage of the expedition started on August 5, 2012 from Yakutsk. Kochi moved along the Lena River, the site where the current (Zhigansk — Tiksi) was one of the most complex, requiring full readiness of the crew. The length of the route between Yakutsk and Tiksi the river is about 1,700 km.
The project "The Arctic — Territory Discoveries" is dedicated to 365 anniversary of the discovery Semyon Dezhnev the Bering Strait. It is intended to draw public attention to the problems of the Russian Arctic, to recall the bright pages of Russian history and geography, and is aimed at the development of inter-regional cooperation in the economic, scientific, cultural and tourist area.
