The successful testing of a new liquid-propellant rocket engine RD-0124 held today at the Voronezh Chemical Automatics Design Bureau.
This engine will be installed on the third step of the new Russian carrier rocket "Soyuz-2-1b" and ensure its launch into space in December 2011 with the unit for the GLONASS system. Told reporters in Voronezh was present during the test head of the Federal Space Agency Vladimir Popovkin.

Oxygen-kerosene RD-0124 engine with a thrust of 30 tons is designed for launch vehicle "Soyuz-2-1b", developed in the "Progress Samara Space Center."
