Central FD demonstrates high rates of production of livestock and poultry

Central Federal District shows the highest rates of livestock and poultry for slaughter — in the agricultural districts of the concentrated 42% of the total production by Russian enterprises in this category. In total, from January to April was sent to the slaughter of 1 million 087 thousand tons of livestock and poultry in live weight, the year the figure rose to 19.4%.

Belgorod region is the clear leader in terms of production performance of livestock and poultry for slaughter, not only in the Central Federal District, but among all the regions of Russia. The share of the Belgorod region from the total figure for Russia is 18% of the figure for the Central District, the region accounted for 43% or 468 thousand tons. Last year alone, the volume of production in the region could be increased by 15%. 

Most of the regions of the Central Federal District showed growth in output in the current year relative to last year's level. Negative dynamics marked by just three regions: in the Kostroma region in January-April this year, was sent to slaughter 7.2 million tons of livestock and poultry, which is 5% lower than last year, in the Ryazan region — 19.1 thousand tons, which is 3% lower in the Tver region — 33,5 thousand tons, down 1%. In other regions of the positive dynamics, the highest growth rate for the year we are seeing in the Kursk region — in January-April this year, 2.4 times higher than last year.

By May 1, 2013 in the agricultural Central District, there were 2 million 079 thousand head of cattle, which is 1.2% higher than last year at the relevant date. The number of pigs in that time in the county increased by 31.1% to 7 million 429 thousand units to 1 May 2013. The number of sheep and goats in the agricultural Central District for the year increased by 13.5% to 156 thousand units. The number of poultry in the Central Federal District for the year increased by 8.1% to 13 million head, which is 33% of the total agricultural organizations in the Russian Federation.
