By early spring fishing industry Khabarovsk Krai herring increased production by 1.4 times. The total catch of marine biological resources, utilized by companies in the region grew by 6.3%.
For the first two months of 2013 the fishing industry enterprises produced 34.8 thousand tons of fish products (6.8% more than in January-February 2012). The output of the high degree of processing has doubled to 4.9 million tons. In the regional budget in the form of taxes from fishing companies received about 48 million rubles, which is 20% more than in January-February of last year.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Khabarovsk Krai, in the fishery currently employs 29 vessels owned by 17 companies. Most of them are produced pollock, herring, cod and halibut in the Sea of Okhotsk, the three companies are catching shrimp and crabs in the subzone "Primorye" and another — is fishing for toothfish in the open ocean (Ross Sea, Antarctica).
