Now — Global press freedom day

In today’s message on the occasion of a day or the Global Press Freedom UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon noted that during last year more than 150 press officers died in the line of Prof. own debt, yet most of the persecution endured. Ban Ki-moon stressed that "an attack on freedom of the press — an attack on international law, humanity and freedom itself, in other words at all, as advocated by the United Nations."
Says press freedom day UNESCO initiative in honor Vindhutskay Declaration, which was approved May 3, 1991. The declaration was made by African publishers, editors and journalists to declare the most important role of a free press in the world. The Declaration — a call to governments all states guarantee freedom of the press.
