Test engine for the MiG-29K has successfully completed

Tests turbojet engine RD-33MK to equip decked MiG-29K/KUB successfully completed, said the United Engine Company.
 
«In the autumn work on the creation of a turbojet engine officially ended. The tests were conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Defense Ministry. RD-33MK created Design Bureau JSC «Klimov» for carrier-based fighter MiG-29K/KUB that allows our country to return to the project of creation of own aircraft carrier fleet. Since 2013 JSC «RAC» MiG «begins deliveries of ship» MiGs «with new engines for the Navy of Russia», — said the press service of the company.
 
It notes that «feature RD-33MK — increased by 7%, while maintaining traction size and weight of the base engine. Engine resettled modern digital automatic control system type FADEC. With all this and saved pluses basic model: there are no restrictions on the management plane in flight and the highest level of resistance to external perturbations.
 
Also RD-33MK can be resettled in developed experimental design bureau of JSC «Klimov» nozzle with thrust vectoring, the use of which can significantly do better flight performance characteristics of aircraft.
 
The press service of the company are reminded that the work on the creation of RD-33MK began in 2004 under a contract for the supply of the RAC «MiG» MiG-29K in the interests of India. First flight of fighter aircraft with a new engine was made in 2007, the first take-off from the deck of an aircraft carrier — in 2009. Since 2010, as part of MiG-29K/KUB engine comes in the interests of a foreign customer.
