At the meeting there were about 400 people. After two hours of debate by a majority vote of Mogilev endorsed independence BNR. In the midst of the big cities of modern Belarus Mogilev was the only one where the public in 1918, endorsed the idea of independence of Belarus.
July 12, 1918 that historic meeting initiated the first Belarusian state organization "Mogilev State Committee." The head of this organization stood Kahanovich Misha, who later became the first director of the Vilna Belarusian gymnasium.
By 1924, Mogilev remained a part of, where he was converted from a provincial center in the county. In 1924, the Russian government returned Mogilev Belarus.
