We recently treated four WDC readers to a day out in London with the Olympus PEN E-P5, a selection of lenses, two professional models and a top pro photographer Here’s how they got on…
A couple of months ago we ran a photo competition on our website to win a chance to spend a day in London using the latest Olympus PEN E-P5. Readers entered in their hundreds, and the winners were chosen. Not only did each winner receive an Olympus XZ-10 to keep, their day out in London included the chance to work with two professional models, with tuition from top pro and Olympus user Jamie Harrison. The winners came from far and wide for the event — including Scotland and even Lithuania.
After a briefing on the camera’s key features each participant was given a bag containing an E-P5 with the kit zoom lens plus two prime lenses: the 12mm f/2 and the 45mm f/1.8. As well as the opportunity to try some street photography, the winners also had some one on one time with the models, with staff from Olympus and WDC on hand to help with any questions or problems they had.
At the end of the day, over a well-earned drink, we asked each participant for their verdict on the E-P5 — specifically, what they liked, what they didn’t like, and whether they would buy one.
